Make sure the contrast is good enough - you may need darker pencil or pen to help. We found moving your phone back a little from the page can help as well. If you're still stuck, email us with a pic of your code and we'll see if we can help.
You don't use the pages the codes are from, you use the pages they point to. For the 3 codes, on what pages have you seen those items? Those are the pages you should use to build your code.

If you've filled in the shading correctly, you should now be able to scan the big QR code to get your answer.

We've added a copy of the puzzle page to the web site under Puzzle 17 so that people can download it again if they need to.

I’ve tried everything but nothing really works
Im still stuck as well on #17 even after printing a page and trying to make it dark. I feel like I'm missing something..
Make sure you're definitely using the right pages.
Try downloading a better app. My camera wasn't able to pick it up but the app managed it easily.
